Little DIY Joys and Goat Acrobatics

Another wee project ticked off… though every time Ben finishes one thing, I somehow add three more to his list 😅

This time, we crafted a couple of little goat seesaws from old tyres and pallet wood. The babies—Guinevere (Gwen) and Norbert (named by our lovely neighbour)—were equal parts curious and cautious, ready to put them to the ultimate test.

Components ready for assembly

All the pieces ready for assembly before heading out to the goat paddock.

Ben assembling seesaw

Ben carefully putting the components together, making sure the seesaws are safe and sturdy for the first test.

Mum Ghana inspecting seesaw

Mum Ghana had to inspect the seesaw too, making sure it was suitable for her mischievous brood.

Norbert cautious first leap

Norbert cautiously sizing up his very first leap on the seesaw. Baby steps, but big excitement!

Second seesaw

The second seesaw, even thinner and tippier, proved to be a favourite of both goat kids.

Both goats approved

Approval granted! Both goat kids gave the thumbs-up (or hoof-up) to the new playthings.

Goat inspecting seesaw

First inspections! Gwen and Norbert curiously exploring the seesaws to see how they worked.

Gwen jumped right on

Gwen didn’t hesitate—she jumped straight on and declared the seesaw her own!

Simple projects, happy goats, and a very patient Ben 😂💚 Tiny DIYs like these make the homestead feel alive, playful, and full of joy. We love seeing our little goat kids thrive on creations made from reused, repurposed materials.
